LOS ANGELES-- Authorities are searching for a man who posed as a UPS driver, forced his way into a home and assaulted and robbed a 90-year-old woman, police said.

On Monday, July 27, at around 4:00 p.m. in the 8000 block of Chase Avenue, police say the suspect knocked on the front door of a Westchester home and identified himself a UPS driver with a delivery.

When the 90-year-old resident opened the door to receive the delivery, the man forced his way inside and demanded her money, Los Angeles Police Department officials reported Sunday.

Police say the man kicked and choked the victim and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The LAPD is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect. He is described by officials as a male Hispanic, 22-to-23 years old, with black hair, brown eyes, standing 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing about 180 pounds.

The suspect was described as having worn a tan shirt, brown pants and brown work boots, similar to the uniform worn by UPS drivers.

Anyone with information on the suspect was asked to contact LAPD Pacific area detectives at (310) 482-6396 or (877)-LAPD-24-7.
